Courtney & David - Relaxed beach side wedding

17th of October 2009

Alt-Text

Arriving in Palm Cove a few days prior to the wedding we were able to relax with our family and friends who were already in Palm Cove. By the time Saturday rolled around everyone was in holiday mode. It made for a very relaxed and easy wedding day with no dramas. The day before the wedding we had a BBQ for everyone around the pool at the Grand Mercure. It was a great idea as on our wedding day, everyone has already met and were able to relax and really enjoy the wedding with their new found friends. Everyone got on so well that after the wedding and David and I had left, guests partied on to a karaoke bar nearby into the early hours of the morning.

A close friend from Holland wrote and performed on acoustic guitar a song written especially for us, titled ‘I do’ at the ceremony and again at the reception along with – signed, sealed, delivered. I’m yours. He was accompanied by another friend from Holland who had previously told us  he couldn’t make it for the wedding, but surprised us by attending.

My father, Sam and my 98 year old Great Grandfather Mick walked me down the aisle to the lovely music of a string quartet. We asked David’s Grandmother, Audrey and my Great Grandfather to sign the marriage certificates. This was very special for both of us and a lovely way to involve them in our ceremony.

GUEST LIST:

We had 88 guests, who travelled from Sydney, Melbourne, Wagga, Queensland and Maastricht in Holland. We were worried that not all of our close family and friends would be able to make it, but almost everyone attended which just blew David & I always that they all made the effort to get to Palm Cove just for us (and the beautiful holiday location!)

FONDEST MEMORY:

The whole week in Palm Cove was just perfect and it was really our dream wedding! If I had to choose one moment it would be walking down the aisle surrounded by all the important people in our lives and having David waiting for me at the end.

DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY?

Not a thing! We had the most perfect, special and relaxed wedding day and week in Palm Cove. Our guests have raved about what a great time that had. Everyone wants to go to Palm Cove for our Wedding Anniversary!
