WHY A RAINFOREST WEDDING?
We have both been to many weddings both together and separately and both agreed a smaller, intimate wedding was what we were after and something we hadn’t experienced before. Beach weddings, garden weddings, church weddings had been done by our friends. The rainforest location offered a tranquil, relaxed atmosphere and also meant we would need to plan our event over a few days.

Having the ceremony at Silky Oaks Lodge, we anticipated fantastic backgrounds. What surprised us was the range of amazing locations within the shortest travel time from Silky Oaks. Our photographers were able to transfer us to beach and other landscapes which has left us with a great range of different shots. To pick our favourite we can’t go past the background that the riverbank of Silky Oaks provided.
HIGHLIGHT:
As perfect, beautiful and romantic the location and the ceremony was we both agreed the highlight was the feeling we had when we were all seated for the reception. One large amazingly decorated table was designed by Tania to seat us all together. Sharing a high quality three course dinner, laughter and tears from the speeches from the best of family and friends will long be the fondest of many amazing moments.
REEF & RAINFOREST:
30 of our guests arranged to travel out to the reef the day before the wedding on the Quicksilver outer reef cruise. We also experienced a day horse riding through the rainforest. Our goal for our stay was to experience great food and relax – we achieved this goal with no disappointment. Our 10 day away was exactly as we planned. The pinnacle was the wedding day – all our guests were blown away with the venue, the room setting and had never experienced such quality food.
