Immersed in the intimate lives of two people, their friends and family for a day, Lizzy Sawdon revels in the possibilities! "As human beings we are by nature social creatures.
There are rituals and ceremony throughout our lives and a wedding is one of these wonderful occasions. To be invited to record the event is to be part of the whole affair, a privilege and a joy.
Each wedding has the potential to be a highly emotive task for me - I am fundamentally a hopeless romantic" Nevertheless, to be charged with preserving the images of a wedding day is a great responsibility, and one Lizzy takes very seriously.
"I completely absorb myself within the world of the bride & groom for a day, studying their nuances and the way they relate to their loved ones, and each other, in order to trip to shutter at the right moment. I love it - it is in my nature to observe and document."
Lizzy is in essence a documentary photographer and approaches each wedding from an unobtrusive and unique perspective, allowing the day to unveil itself and the participants to interact without inhibition. Each wedding is different and Lizzy is also comfortable taking a more dynamic role throughout the day, if and when the need arises.
"Getting to know my clients before the day is important and a great benefit to all concerned, whether via email or even a photo shoot it breaks the ice and makes for a relaxed atmosphere on the day".
Based in Far North Queensland, Lizzy is available throughout Australia and overseas and offers tailor made coverage to suit the individuality of each bride and groom.
